SMIT AMANDLA MARINE (PTY) LTD

Service Activities

We are active in the provision of specialist marine services and have a group track record in South Africa that spans some three decades.

We listen to our clients' needs and tailor make solutions to suit their specialist marine service requirements. This is one of our many competitive advantages, along with our respect and appreciation of issues relating to safety, environmental protection and the provision of service excellence, as well as the ongoing development of our South African skills base.

We are currently involved in the following service activities:

In-Port Bunker Delivery

Of paramount importance in our bunker delivery operation are issues relating to health, safety and environmental protection. Effective 24 hour a day availability ensures seamless service to our Clients.

Our bunker barge 'SMIT Bongani' is operational in the Port of Richards Bay where it is active in delivering marine fuels to vessels in-port. In addition to the operation in Richards Bay, we operate the bunker barges 'Pentow Energy' and 'Marine Excellence' in the Port of Durban.

Management of Offshore Tanker Terminals & Subsea Services

We provide our own vessels, personnel, expertise and equipment for turnkey operations involving offshore tanker loading and discharge terminals (such as the Single Point Mooring (SPM) and Conventional Buoy Mooring (CBM) moorings offshore Durban and Mossel Bay), providing our Clients with a single point of responsibility. Included in this service is the preparation of terminal procedure manuals and contingency plans developed in line with national regulatory requirements. Consistently high standards of care and diligence are essential in ensuring an environmentally safe service and form the basis of all operations.

We provide air and saturation diving services and we are able to offer engineering and professional marine services and vessels to support subsea operations. We are also capable of providing ROV and offshore positioning/survey services on an outsourced basis. All of our offshore operations are continuously measured for compliance with the Company's SHE-Q policy. We believe that it is our serious attitude to SHE-Q that has been a major contributor to our success to date.
